CSUDH to give iPads to students?

If the CSUDH wants to follow the trend of some other colleges like Monterey College described in blog post by professor Larry Press this can soon be a reality. If not for all, then at least for the evening students who are attending college after they are done with their busy work day.

Larry Press's post is talking about a pioneer effort of Monterey College who started to distribute Apple iPads to all students enrolled in a supplemental curriculum program. This was done with the intention of helping those students to prepare themselves for the state's bar exam.

This post is interesting to me for several reasons. When the iPad device came out I purchased one for testing purposes. I have interest to implement iPad in my everyday life, in both personal and business way. Learning more about potential applications will help me put it in its place with and around me.

This post fits in our class outline in many places. First, it talks about new technologies that are currently in use, and have potential to rise very high in their future applications and usage, particularly in the colleges. It also fits in topics about network applications, wireless networking, and connectivity. As more and more applications for iPad are developed, it is likely to also fit in topics about image processing, audio and video processing, and VoIP.
